3D logo design

Creating the logo for my personal brand was a creative journey that allowed me to embrace my Vietnamese roots while incorporating my English name.

The design process.

I began with the idea of using my initials, TCAD for Thi Chau Anh Dinh and blending it with my English name, Joanne Dinh. After multiple iterations and seeking inspiration, a breakthrough came when I aligned the stem of the letter "J" with "D."

By splitting the stem where the 'J' and 'D' intersected, the bottom part of the 'J' transformed into a rotated 'C,' and the bar of the 'J' naturally formed a 'T.' A diagonal stroke inside the 'D' completed the initials, resulting in the formation of an 'A.'

I began with rough sketches on paper before transitioning to digital design using Figma. The initial digital version didn't meet my aesthetic expectations. I increased the line weight for better visibility but felt that the sharp edges were too harsh and didn't convey the approachability I envisioned for my brand. To strike the right balance, I softened the edges for a more modern quality.

The initial logo design didn't capture the essence I aimed for. It felt incomplete and didn't give the 'T' the prominence it deserved. To enhance balance and cohesion, I joined the top of the 'A' to the junction where the 'T' and 'D' met. It was a simple tweak that ensured each element seamlessly interacted with one another.

Satisfied with the design, I uploaded the logo as an SVG file onto Vectary, a platform that allowed me to bring it to life in 3D.

Reflection.

Exploring the depths of Vectary's features was an exhilarating experience. The possibilities seemed endless, and I couldn't help but envision how 3D design would become an integral part of our daily lives in the next 10-20 years, offering immersive and engaging experiences beyond imagination.

Creating this logo was more than a project – it was a journey of self-expression and growth. I learned the power of blending different elements to create a visually compelling and meaningful design. The logo became a reflection of who I am and what I aspire to be. As I eagerly anticipate the future, I am excited about the limitless possibilities that await, where I can continue to explore and innovate in the world of design.
